Welcome back to Romanceaholic, where we live off of emotionally damaged alphas, cinnamon roll omegas, and the beta girls who swear they don’t want a harem…until they do.
Let’s talk about Claimed by the Team is a book that grabbed me by the hoodie strings, flung me onto the ice, and whispered, “You’re ours now, sweetheart.”
Lexie is our sarcastic, slightly jaded beta queen who has been there, dumped that. Four times, actually. Each ex ran off with their scent-matched “perfect” partner, leaving Lexie convinced she’s just the league’s perennial placeholder.
So naturally, when a glitchy matchmaking app pairs her with five very alpha-coded, red-flag-waving hockey players, including a six-foot-five omega who could bench-press her self-esteem, Lexie is ready to nope out. Hard.
But here’s the twisty-turny omegaverse magic I live for: Darren “The Brick” Malloy, professional tough guy and surprise omega, is not here to share. And when he gets a whiff of Lexie’s cozy-beta scent and commitment issues? Baby, it’s game on.
He and his four alpha packmates turn their attention to convincing Lexie she’s not a rebound, not a mistake, she’s the whole damn fantasy.
This book has everything:
- Reverse harem goodness, hello, five swoony, hockey-playing disasters
- Omegaverse drama with a beta twist
- Consent, communication, and found family galore
- Emotional healing with a side of spicy locker room tension
What I loved? Darren, as an omega, is perfection. Gruff, growly, and possessive in all the best ways, he’s the emotional heart of the pack.
Lexie’s vulnerability is raw and relatable without veering into melodrama, and watching these big, beefy hockey boys soft-launch their obsession with her oversized sweaters? Adorable. Hot. A little unhinged. In other words, romance gold.
Claimed by the Team is an 11/10 slow-burn-turned-scorching read that’ll make you want to be someone’s accidental algorithm glitch. Beta girl is finally getting the HEA she deserves.
Lace up, babes. This one’s a power play you don’t want to miss.
