Page-Turner Temptation My Bookish Crush Was a Cold-Blooded Assassin, And Honestly? I’d Let Him Wreck Me Again

He’s hot, he’s fictional, confessing our literary lusts, one rogue at a time.

Welcome to Page-Turner Temptation, the series where we shamelessly lust after fictional men with bad attitudes, tight breeches, and questionable morals. He’s hot, he’s fictional, and he’s 100% the reason your sleep schedule is in shambles. Buckle up, darling, because we’re spilling every swoon, scandal, and scandalous swoon one rogue at a time.

I fell head over heels for a full-blown unhinged villain with a body count and a God complex.

Alright, Romanceaholics, it’s confession time: While some of y’all were swooning over brooding dukes or morally upstanding boy-next-door types, I was out here falling madly in love with a contract killer in training.

Yes, I’m talking about Eli Hunter from Alluring Darkness by Raven Wood.

Cold. Vicious. Deranged. And somehow, still made me kick my feet and giggle. I am not okay, and neither is he.

Alluring Darkness drops us into Blackwater University, a secret training ground for assassins, where being at the top of your class means being the most lethal.

Raina, whom I will now refer to as Queen of Grit, enrolls with one goal: to take her brother’s place as Eli’s target. Yeah. She voluntarily steps in front of a human wrecking ball to protect her family.

SHE’S HER OWN DAMN KNIGHT.

And Eli? He’s the broken god of this twisted little kingdom. An unrelenting, sadistic, emotionally scarred monster with ice in his veins, and to my horror/delight, I couldn’t get enough of him.

Eli’s game isn’t just violence, it’s an obsession.

And when obsession looks like that in black tactical gear? BABE. I get it.

💀 Strengths

💀 Weaknesses

If your ideal romance includes knives, betrayal, and one-bedrooms with “oops, we’re enemies,” you’re welcome.

That Scene Though…

“Fucking hell, I’ve only known this damn woman for less than half an hour, and I’m already becoming obsessed with her.”

“Rage roars through me because I suddenly feel embarrassed by how easily she managed to throw me off my game.”

Should You Read It? Um, YES.

If you crave danger, twisted desire, and villains who would burn the world for one woman, Alluring Darkness delivers like a knife to the heart in a hot way.

And that’s a wrap on this round of Page-Turner Temptation, proof that fictional men will always outdo the real ones, sorry, not sorry. Now it’s your turn: who’s the swoon-worthy scoundrel or heroine that lives rent-free in your head?

Drop your confessions below, because misery might love company, but romance readers? We love chaos, banter, and a good cravat.

Until next time, keep your standards fictional and your TBR dangerously high.
