He isn’t the hero everyone is supposed to root for.
His choices are complicated. His methods are questionable. His moral compass occasionally seems to have been misplaced entirely.
He may break the rules, cross lines, and make decisions that leave us wondering whether we should be cheering for him at all.
And then he loves.
Suddenly, beneath all those sharp edges is a devotion so absolute that the contrast becomes impossible to resist.
But the best morally gray heroes aren’t unforgettable simply because they’re dangerous, ruthless, or willing to burn everything down.
There has to be something underneath the darkness.
A code he won’t break. A vulnerability few people are allowed to see. A line that matters because she matters. And most importantly, his questionable morality can’t replace the emotional work required to make the relationship convincing.
Because I’d burn the world for you sounds delicious.
But Romanceaholic still wants to know:
Will you listen to her? Respect her? Choose her when there isn’t an enemy to destroy? Love her when devotion requires tenderness instead of violence?
That’s what earns a place on this shelf.
He doesn’t have to be everyone’s hero. But his devotion has to convince us why he became hers. 🖤
