A Thousand Ways to Love a Story
ROMANCEAHOLIC · VELVET HEARTBEATS
Love, in every language.
Maybe we don’t all read romance the same way.
Some of us want the slow burn that takes 400 pages and one accidental touch to finally break us.
Some of us want softness. Small towns. Second chances. Sunday mornings and love that feels like coming home.
Some of us want fantasy worlds, dangerous bargains, morally gray men, obsessive devotion, forbidden love, darkness, monsters, chaos and apparently emotional stability was never part of the reading plan.
And some of us want a little bit of everything.
That’s the beauty of romance.
There isn’t one language of love here.
There are thousands.
We speak it through the tropes we can’t resist.
Through the characters we carry long after the final page.
Through annotations scribbled in margins and tabs sticking out of books.
Through the “WAIT UNTIL CHAPTER 27” messages we send our book friends at completely unreasonable hours.
Through the recommendations that begin with “Trust me.”
Through the books we press into someone else’s hands because something inside us whispers:
You might find a piece of yourself in this one too.
And maybe that’s why our differences have never felt like something we need to erase.
They’re what make this reading world interesting.
You don’t have to love my favorite trope for me to want to hear why yours makes your heart race.
You don’t have to understand why a fictional man ruined my entire week for me to happily explain it to you in unnecessary detail.
And we certainly don’t need identical bookshelves to sit at the same table.
Because Romanceaholic was never supposed to be about deciding which kind of romance is the right kind of romance.
It’s about loving stories loudly.
Discovering something unexpected.
Talking about the things those stories make us feel.
Making room for different readers, different tastes, different perspectives and different versions of happily ever after.
And somewhere between all those different stories?
We find common ground.
A love of books.
A love of feeling something deeply.
A love of finding another reader who looks at us after we’ve been passionately explaining a fictional relationship for twenty minutes and simply says:
“I get it.”
Maybe that’s our language.
Not one trope.
Not one genre.
Not one definition of romance.
Connection.
So whether your heart belongs to the cinnamon roll, the villain, the childhood best friend, the small-town cowboy, the fae prince, the hockey player, the billionaire, the monster or that deeply concerning morally gray man we will absolutely be discussing later you have a seat here.
Bring the stories that made you swoon.
Bring the ones that wrecked you.
Bring the characters you still haven’t recovered from.
Bring the tropes you’ll defend forever.
We’ll meet somewhere between the pages.
