Good morning, romance reader ♡
“There are books you read. Then there are books you move into.”
You know the ones.
You’re technically sitting on your couch.
But mentally?
You have relocated.
You know the little cottage at the edge of town.
You’ve wandered through the enchanted forest.
You know which hallway in the castle you absolutely should not walk down after midnight.
You have opinions about the local coffee shop.
And somewhere in this fictional world lives a man who has become alarmingly important to your emotional well-being.
At some point, you stop feeling like you’re reading about a place.
You start feeling like you’ve been there.
That’s the magic of certain books.
They give us somewhere to disappear for a while.
Somewhere we can return to when real life gets loud.
Somewhere filled with people we know aren’t real and places we couldn’t actually visit…
and yet somehow miss when we leave.
Then comes the final page.
You close the book.
Look around your perfectly ordinary room.
And experience the deeply unreasonable feeling of having just returned home from somewhere.
That’s when you know.
You didn’t simply read that story.
You lived there for a while.
And honestly, romance reader?
Some fictional places have better rent, better scenery, and significantly better brooding men, so I understand the relocation. ♡
Romanceaholic may physically reside in reality, but emotionally we maintain several fictional addresses.
What book world would you move into tomorrow if someone handed you the key?
