Confessions of a Romanceaholic: The Villain Didn’t Just Win. He Got the Girl, and I Approved

You know what’s better than a happily-ever-after? A happily-ever-after where the villain gets the girl. That’s right, I said what I said. Because sometimes, the broody, morally questionable, allegedly evil man is the real hero, and frankly? I’m tired of pretending he isn’t.

Give me the dark sorcerer who burns down kingdoms but softens at the sight of her.

The wicked stepbrother who schemes his way into power but would tear it all down for his girl. The monster under the bed, who doesn’t want to hurt her, wants to worship her. And don’t even get me started on the enemies-to-lovers retellings where the villain is suddenly looking a lot more like… the misunderstood soulmate of my dreams.

These stories don’t just flip the script, they throw it in the fire and write something so much hotter. Why settle for the bland hero when the villain has better fashion, sharper lines, and a love so intense it borders on obsession?

Let’s be honest: borderline-obsessive devotion is peak romance energy.

So yes, the villain won. Yes, he got the girl. And yes, I was cheering the entire time, sipping my tea and watching the so-called “hero” get wrecked by the superior, more interesting man because nothing’s sexier than a redemption arc laced with danger, passion, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting.

Villains, you have my heart. Keep winning. Keep loving too hard. And keep proving that the best love stories sometimes live in the shadows.

Confessed. Obsessed. Still feral. See you in the next fantasy.

Keep it hot, keep it messy, keep it Romanceaholic.
