Confessions of a Romanceaholic: Where Is the Grovel Scene? I Need Him on His Knees, Crying, Possibly Begging.

Confessions of a Romanceaholic: Where Is the Grovel Scene? I Need Him on His Knees, Crying, Possibly Begging.

Look, I’m all for forgiveness and second chances, but if he broke her heart, shattered her trust, or betrayed her in a way that had me sobbing into my wine at midnight, then he better not show up two chapters later with a “my bad” and a bouquet from the grocery store.

Absolutely not.

I need the grovel. The whole, messy, dramatic, soul-on-display grovel scene.

I’m talking on his knees, voice cracking, tears optional but highly encouraged, and at least one emotionally devastating line like, “I’ll never forgive myself, but I’ll spend forever trying to earn yours.”

YES. That’s what we came here for.

He’s not getting a free pass just because he suddenly realized she’s the best thing that ever happened to him. Congrats, king, now get to groveling. Let’s see the grand gestures. Let’s see the emotional wreckage. Let’s see the man who was once untouchable now completely undone because he can’t live without her.

Because let’s be honest: watching a powerful, prideful man fall apart over the woman he loves? Peak romance. It’s not about punishment, it’s about growth.

It’s about earning that second chance with open wounds and open arms.

So authors, if you’re going to break my heart with a betrayal arc, I’d better get the grovel scene of my angsty, dramatic dreams. Give me the tears. Give me the desperation.

Give me the moment she turns away… and he still whispers, “I’m not giving up.”

Confessed. Obsessed. Still waiting for him to drop to his knees. See you in the next fantasy.
