You finish the final chapter. Close the cover. Maybe stare into space for a suspicious amount of time.
And technically, the story is over.
Except… it isn’t.
Because days later, you’re still thinking about that one line.
That one choice.
That character who somehow became important to you without asking permission.
And sometimes, months or even years later, you realize the story means something completely different to you now than it did when you first read it.
I think that’s part of the magic.
The best books don’t stay neatly between their covers.
They follow us.
They grow with us.
They quietly become part of the way we understand love, heartbreak, courage, forgiveness, hope and sometimes ourselves.
So yes, the last page might say The End.
But your heart is under absolutely no obligation to agree.
