Good morning, romance reader ♡

“I didn’t choose the morally gray man. The plot made compelling arguments.”

I would like the record to show that I entered this book with perfectly reasonable intentions.

Then he appeared.

Brooding. Complicated. Questionable decision-making skills.

Probably carrying enough emotional baggage to require its own luggage carousel.

And naturally, I thought:

Absolutely not.

Then he did one unexpectedly tender thing.

Remembered something tiny she said.

Protected her when it mattered.

Let everyone else see the dangerous version of him while quietly giving her the part nobody else gets.

And suddenly my moral compass started experiencing… technical difficulties.

Do I approve of all his choices?

No.

Have I prepared a suspiciously detailed presentation explaining his character development?

Also no, and you cannot prove otherwise.

That’s the morally gray problem.

We don’t need him to be good.

We need him to be complicated enough to keep turning pages and devoted enough to make us question our own judgment.

Romanceaholic would therefore like to enter a plea of:

The plot made me do it. ♡

Which morally gray fictional man could you defend with an alarming amount of evidence?

Whatever today brings, go find something delicious to read. ♡

Love stories. Taken seriously.
